Ronald Kocol papers
Collection Scope and Content Note
This collection documents Ronald Kocol's career as a Test Engineer. The materials date from 1977 to 2003, with the bulk of the materials dated from 1984 to 1986. The papers are comprised of schematics, lab notebooks, reference materials, program test printouts, and other documentation.
The majority of the papers are schematics, drawings, and program test printouts from Kocol's time at Williams Manufacturing. Some of the pieces represented in the collection are the Video Power Pack, 8 Pair OPTO, A-20580 coin door, a PC based cable, and more. The papers also contain two of Kocol's engineering log books. One logbook contains information about optical and analog joysticks, and a "super clock." The reference materials in the papers consist of articles, chapters, reference guides, handwritten notes, technical packets, and more about microcomputer devices, board testing, GRNET, program configurations, relay boards, modems, etc.
The papers have been divided into two series. The materials are physically housed in one half record carton, one oversized flat box, and two oversized folders. Additional scope and content information can be found in the Series Scope and Content Notes.

Biographical Note
Ronald Kocol is a retired test engineer. Kocol began his career in 1972 as an Associate Test Engineer for Motorola Consumer Electronics developing test equipment for television receivers and microwave ovens. Kocol left Motorola in 1979 when he moved to Williams Electronics. At Wiliams Electronics Kocol developed test equipment for pinball assemblies and PC boards until leaving in 1984. Kocol was also a test engineer at Gen Rad, Scientific Games, and IGM Solutions where he designed, built, and programmed production support test equipment. He retired in March 2020.
