The files are comprised of digital surrogates of images and documents related to the design, production, and advertisement of pinball machines. The materials date from 1932 to 2015, with the bulk of material dating from 1970 to 1990.

The materials are dated from 1976 to 2014, with the bulk of the materials dated from 1983 to 1997. The papers are comprised of newspaper clippings, correspondence, scrapbooks, promotional materials, VHS cassettes, and more.

The Williams pinball playfield design collection contains more than 200 large hand-drawn playfield sketches, as well as mechanical insert drawings and cabinet artwork. Digital images of playfields and insert drawings are also included. The materials range in date from 1946 through 2015, with the bulk of the materials from 1946-1975.
