AGPI collection on European games

Abstract

This file of information, collected by the Association for Games & Puzzles International (AGPI), includes two documents detailing early European games. The first, "The Pre-1900 European Game Catalog," was compiled by Bill Alexander in 1989 and lists known manufacturers of games in Europe during the 19th century. The other is a 1993 catalog (in German) created by Austrian organization Die Spiel Collection, documenting games manufacturers in Austria.

Also in this folder are drafts of an article "How to Date Your Monopoly Game" by Dave Oglesby, with associated edits, notes, and correspondence with Anne D. Williams.

The Elizabeth Hargrave papers include materials used in the design, development, and publication process for the board games Wingspan (2019) and Mariposas (2020). The physical reference materials are comprised of research notes and prototype components including cards, chits, cubes, dice, dice tower, game boards, player mats, and tokens. The digital files consist of correspondence, graphics, presentations, spreadsheets, text, and video. The bulk of the materials date from 2016 to 2019.
