This small collection of materials contains a selection of exhibitor handouts, presentation handouts, a conference guide, and a totebag gathered by Tony Van at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in 2007. The "swag" associated with this material has been removed to Collections. Proceedings of other GDCs have been removed to the library stacks.

This collection is open for research use by staff of The Strong and by users of its library and archives. Though the donor has not transferred intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to any copyright, trademark, and associated rights therein) to The Strong, he has given permission for The Strong to make copies in all media for museum, educational, and research purposes.

Historical Note

These artifacts are part of a donation from Tony Van, a producer and designer in the video game industry since 1988. He worked for many of the industry's top publishers, including Activision, Infocom, Strategic Simulations, Inc., Sega, Lucasfilm Games, Segasoft, Ubisoft, Zynga and Electronc Arts. He created games of almost every genre for personal computers, home consoles and online game portals. The items contained in this archive document Van's attendance at the Game Developer's Conference in 2007 and include a conference program and exhibitor guide, exhibitor hand-outs (the "swag" has been removed to Collections), presentation handouts, and a presenter's packet, all accumulated in a totebag bearing the name of the conference.

Custodial History

The Tony Van collection was donated to The Strong as a gift of Tony Van. These materials were accessioned by the museum in February 2012, as Object ID 112.1021. The bound materials listed in the Argus record for this collection were removed to the library stacks on February 21, 2012.
