The Amy Federman papers pertain to the conference "Growing Up: Interpreting the History of Childhood at Historic Sites," held in Washington D.C. on October 19, 1999. The papers include marketing and programming materials from multiple Historic Sites in the United States. The materials are comprised of schedules, programs, registration forms, brochures, press kits, educational programming materials, and more.

Historic sites represented in the conference materials include: Lyndhurst Mansion, Tarrytown, NY; The Paul Revere House, Boston, MA; Shadows-on-the-Teche, New Iberia, LA; The Historic New Orleans Collection, New Orleans, LA; and Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, Winterthur, DE. The conference materials include annotations and handwritten notes by Amy Federman. The papers also include a photocopy of the booklet Cooking Up U.S. History: Recipes and Research to Share with Children (Teacher Ideas Press, 1991).

Biographical Note

Amy Federman is a historian who has worked for the Western NY Landmark Society, the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington, and the National Parks Service. She served as the President of the Society for Industrial Archeology from 1992 to 1994. She has held several roles in the field of public history including being a judge for the National History Day competition.
