Administrative history
Robert K. Cooper Sr., inspired by a ficticious World Series of Monopoly, hosted a tournament with friends in 1985, founding the Colorado State Championship of Monopoly. The tradition continued until 1997. In September 2010, Robert Cooper Jr., Robert Sr.'s son, began hosting Monopoly tournaments. Robert K. Cooper Jr.'s Monopoly League held monthly games, awarded points, and crowned a yearly Monopoly Champion.
The Monopoly League continued for ten seasons with over 50 tournaments. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Monopoly League's last tournament was in 2019.
